Computer games can be a fantastic resource for keeping young children engaged and entertained while also helping them develop essential skills.
We have kids and researched several games to determine which ones are most educational as well as plain old fun. These games focus on teaching the alphabet, counting, memorizing, and other academic and practical abilities.
We’ve found that introducing our children to learning through play in various ways at a young age can help foster a lifelong love of learning; it also doesn’t hurt (sometimes) to keep them busy for a few minutes so we can get work done.

Sesame Street has got a ton of great free preschool games that feature your child’s favorite_Sesame Street_ characters. In fact, your kid can choose which character they want to be featured in the games.
The website is easy for little ones to navigate with bright colorful images so they can follow their favorite character as they have fun learning and sharing.
You’ll find games here that teach children shapes, numbers, letters, feelings, music, science, disabilities, and self-confidence.
A great bonus to this site is the “Play Together” parent tip for each game. This is an offline activity that you can do with your child in connection with the game.

What We Don’t Like
- Some games are too complex for young children.
- Many games lack descriptions.
PBS Kids offers free preschool games that feature your child’s favorite PBS Kids characters. You’ll find_Sesame Street_ ,Arthur ,Curious George ,Super Why ,Bob the Builder , and more show-themed games here.
All the games are educational and teach skills like memory, letters, math, puzzles, problem-solving and more. They’re categorized for easy browsing in sections for science, music, holiday, spelling, rhyming, etc.
You can also view the games by new, popular, teamwork, feelings, and adventure.

What We Don’t Like

- Some games are meant for older kids.

The DisneyNOW website has more great free games for preschoolers! There are some educational games here, but most of them lean towards being just for fun.

- Some games suffer from long and frequent load times.
