What to Know

- Instead, use the X website: Click thePost button and prepare your post, and then click theCalendar icon.
- Set the time and date, and then clickConfirm andPost .
This article shows you how to schedule a post on X (formerly Twitter). Instructions apply to the web version.
How to Post on X at a Specific Time and Date
If you won’t be available to post an update at a specific time, or if you want to spread your updates over the course of the day, schedule your posts ahead of time to be sent out automatically whenever you want your posts to be seen.
- On the official X website, select thePost button.
- Type your post, including any pictures, hashtags , or links.
- Select theCalendar icon below the text box.
- Set the time and date you want your post to appear on your feed.
5. ClickConfirm .
6. You can make any changes and confirm the date and time your post will go up. When you’re ready, clickSchedule .
7. The post will automatically appear on your feed at the scheduled time.
Where to Find Your Scheduled Posts on X
Before scheduled posts go up, you can still view and edit them. Here’s how.
- Click thePost button on the X website.
- Choose theCalendar icon.
- SelectScheduled Posts at the bottom of the window.
4. You’ll see a list of your scheduled post(s). Select the one you want to edit or reschedule.
5. Adjust the text as needed; click theCalendar icon again to change when the post will go up.
What Happened to Tweetdeck?
The best option for pre-writing posts used to be Tweetdeck, a free client that also let you manage several feeds and accounts simultaneously. It also supported scheduling when the Twitter website didn’t.
However, when Twitter became X, Tweetdeck changed to “X Pro.” Unfortunately, it also stopped being free. You can’t use X Pro without an X Premium membership, which has a monthly fee.
Luckily, however, scheduling came to the web version of X, and Tweetdeck/X Pro aren’t necessary.
